Our Story
Borgo Monti is a producer of gourmet food products, founded in May 2005 by Samantha Franz, its founder and a Doctor of Food Science and Technology (a graduate of the Catholic University of Piacenza), and by Matteo Camisasca, co-founder and President.
Borgo Monti aims to preserve the finest aspects of ancient traditions, blending them with the latest technologies. From this harmonious union spring the foundations of our work: continuous innovation, imagination, creativity, a deep connection to our land, and unwavering quality. This commitment begins with the careful selection of raw ingredients and extends to low-temperature processing (between 40 and 60°C) using a vacuum technique that preserves the raw materials' organoleptic properties, resulting in a finished product of extraordinary quality, with an incredibly fresh and natural taste.
Our product range includes exceptional fruit compotes for breakfast, always with over 100% fruit concentration, other fruit preserves, mostardas, chutneys, ready-to-serve sauces, pairing sauces (for meats, cheeses, appetizers, and much more), fruits in syrup, wine-flavored fruits, and vegetables preserved in oil. Additionally, from approximately mid-October to the end of March, we craft a line of artisanal chocolates filled with our extraordinary compotes (simply unmissable).
Borgo Monti is a proud participant in the Economy of Communion project - www.edc-online.org - which unites companies worldwide, operating across diverse sectors, all committed to a new style of business management that places the human person at the heart of the Enterprise. While operating within market dynamics and rules, companies adhering to the EdC Project guide their operations and development along three core principles:
- to help people in need, by creating new job opportunities and meeting essential needs, starting with those who share the spirit of the Project, but not exclusively;
- to spread the “Culture of Giving” and Love, without which an Economy of Communion cannot be realized;
- to develop the Enterprise, which must be efficient, profitable, and open to giving.
“Economy of Communion” companies distribute their profits, allocating a portion according to the aims of the three principles described above.
Borgo Monti received the prestigious Piemontese Artisan Excellence award after just 4 years of activity, a testament to its merit. It has also won several accolades for individual products, including the Special Jury Prize at the Agro-Food Competition promoted by the Rotary Club of Pallanza Stresa for its Yellow Raspberry Jam and for its Jam-filled Chocolates. Subsequently, in November 2012, it was awarded the Premio Bontà a Tavola for its Mostarda di Ca’ d’ Matè. In 2024, the Domodossola store received an award at Golosaria, recognizing it as one of the best gourmet boutiques in Italy.
